August 27, 200321 yr CTW Members the tunes were really good in the main room, it's just a shame i couldn't stay in there for more than 30seconds without dying. nice one tony for playing Accelerate, anyway. it was good to finally see you play, you've got da skillz man. wish i could have stayed longer for your set. i'm just gonna speak my mind about this, seems as if i'm the only one who had a relatively [censored] night compared to expectations, but to be honest the venue was appalling. there's a difference between "underground" and "deathtrap". the bar staff had no clue about how to serve, i mean i couldn't even get anything in a pint glass; the heat in the main room was just shocking, they're asking for someone to die in there; then of course you can't refill your bottle of water in the toilets, a nice sign says "This Water Is Not Drinkable", and if the manager catches you refilling anyway, he'll shout "WHILE YOU'RE IN MY CLUB, YOU'RE SPENDING MONEY", nice one man, hope you have a death on your hands then with water at £3 a pop or whatever it was; then of course there's the excellent crowd control trying to stop people going upstairs by some "bouncer" standing in a doorway putting his hand in the way, and causing a crush and a mad rush of people when he eventually gives way; plus there's the sound system that can't cope and turns speakers off occasionally; and finally the underground "arena" that can't really be any bigger than CBBC's Broom Cupboard. overall i didn't really feel safe in there, sorry but that's just the way i felt. oi, you looking at my bird? the best part about the place is the terrace outside. it ain't exactly got a nice view but it's the best asset that sahara nights has. proper real plants and everything! it's got that "Ibiza" vibe. if you ignore the trains going past. but nice to chill out in and get some banter. i hope they sort all this out for the next night, unlikely i know, but the place obviously looks to be designed to be a bar, not a club; if they want it to be a club then they should do more than just apply for a late licence. no score.
August 27, 200321 yr Author CTW Promotors Tom i like your honesty, thats what counts & you are right it was hot, but to be honest I have been in hotter clubs, which have no escape from the heat, last time I went to MOS, for chemistry, it was like 3 time's the heat in there.. as for the bar staff, well my vodka & redbulls were spot on, as they were not using measurments, my drinks were nice & strong!! i think it is bang outta order about the water refil, not on.... hopefully Tony & some of the other DJ's can have a word with the promoter see if something can be done, as we need to get this sorted before the 13th, now, dont we Techno, Techno, Techno
