it still surprises me, given all the talk of 'hard' music here, that more CTW people are not fans of psytrance.

i found another track which, to me, is a good crossover between mainstream hard dance and psytrance. check it out - if you like it, there may be hope for you smile.gif

it's called sugar rush by man with no name

man with no name is a venerable psytrance artist...

I fookin love Psytrance. Love some of the [censored] by Infected Mushroom, I'm not all that clued up on it but some of my fave tunes by IM are "The Shen" and "Psycho" from their first and second albums respectively.

I like a lot of psytrance Alasdair. Although, like hard house nights, I find it a little hit-or-miss trying to find really good psy nights that aren't overly-hard all night, or just far too minimal/samey.

Having said that, my best psy nights have kicked seven shades of [censored] out of my favourite hard house nights. thumbs.gif

recently ive started listening to a lot broader range of music like hardcore, hardstyle, freeform, gabba etc and going to a lot more 'underground' clubs - i love it - in fact hard trance and some hard house sounds very slow & almost 'cheesy' in comparison!

Agreed, although people have different definitions of "hard", which I think is Alaisdair's point. smile.gif

To me, some 135bpm techno sound ten times harder than some 150bpm hard house. There's more to "hardness" than hoovers and a high BPM!

As for the very fast stuff you are always enthusing about - I find a lot of that stuff cheesy. shrug.gif Maybe it's just an association thing, but beyond a certain BPM it sounds a bit silly to me (unless you have broken beats like in drum and bass).

Urgh...Mr moo please... don't label dutch stuff as hardstyle. It does it's a dis-service. no.gif

hardstyle is italian. German stuff is proper hardtrance... dutch stuff is jsut a mess rotfl.gif

you sure did but i've been trying to find specific tracks which cross over to a fair degree. i don't think you mentioned a specific track or tracks - or even a specific disk.
