They all play a part in Don't Bank On It! The first in the second series of ANTI-APATHY's issues-based cultural events. Ann Pettifor, of Jubilee 2000 campaign, launches the book, REAL WORLD ECONOMIC OUTLOOK - the 'No Logo' for global finance - with contributions from authors including Joseph Stiglitz. Filmmaker Sean Langan shares scenes from his current Channel 4 series entitled 'Travels with a Gringo', while a short film by War on Want explores the unregulated money trade. Indian musician Baluji Shrivastav, who has recorded with the likes of Massive Attack, Annie Lennox and even Kylie, performs a hypnotic set of classical sitar. Sophie Woolley, author of the infamous D.J. Bird diaries, serialised in Sleaze Nation magazine, tempts us with alternative humour. And if that's not enough, indulge in a twisted musical feast of heavy beats, humour, samples, and live instruments by the selfproduced, self-released one-man musical wonder, Carpet Face. ...And DJ MatEP is back on the decks!
