i'm sorry but i think crowd interation being the key to djing is total bollox

paul glazby is 4 dullest dj to watch yet my fav hardhouse dj.

carl cox is my all time fav DJ and he barly has time to interact with the crowd.

my point is this: if DJing is all about crowd interation then people might just as well thow away thier CD-R, multiple channel mixers with EQs and FX units. sterling moss might as well work in sainsburies and DJ tools (such as most house and techno vinyl) might as well be melted down 2 make cups so we can drink ourself silly to enjoy the mindless [censored] that other 'DJ' churn out rolleyes.gif:

(let me just point out, i'm not against crowd interation, i just think its over rated)

Happy mate, again I have to say thats crap.

1 - Carl Cox is one of the most "crowd orientated" DJs i have ever seen. Crowd interaction doesnt just stop at holding your vinyl in the air or dancing about.

2 - I use most of the things you have mentioned (a sampler, efx, 3 decks etc) but i still manage to interact with the crowd.

i said carl cox doesnt have *much* time to interact. not that he dont.

all i was saying was crowd interation isnt the b all and and all. its not the key to DJing. its mearly a bones. nuffin more.

half the time u cant even c the DJ ne ways laugh.gif

I think, overall, this thread has said you need a good mixture of all the things mentioned. Not just crowd interaction.

Cheers Liam!!

Mr happy - I wasn't saying crowd interaction is the ONLY important thing about being a dj, it's just that it is one of the things that makes a good dj in my opinion!

If you are looking at the DJ instead of dancing, they can't be doing a very good job, can they?

That makes perfect sense because like Glazy you are an equally moody [censored] - just like him.

he barly has time to interact with the crowd.

Other DJ's do so why cant he? Dont give me this bullshit about 'hes concentrating' because other DJ's can do BOTH just as good. Dont talk so much [censored].
