If a guy meets you and falls in love with you when you look like [censored], imagine what a nice surprise it will be for him to see you looking good!

 

But if he meets you and you're always looking tops, then you'll always have to live up to that and spend your life making sure you reach those standards! You'll be exhausted from trying to always look your best, and he won't know what you really look like

 

My b/f says girls should come with a Trade Descriptions Act because if you meet them in nightclubs etc, what you see often ain't what you get!!!

many people think they look like [censored] when they are looking themselves. it's like the great line from the roberts burns poem 'to a louse':

 

O, wad some Power the giftie gie us

To see oursels as others see us!

 

so in america (and perhaps in the UK too?) the wing mirrors on cars often have a small sticker on the lens of the mirror which reads:

 

"Objects in the mirror are closer than they appear"

 

if you've not heard of this phenomenon before, i swear i'm not making this up (the litigious name that some americans have annoys me as much as it annoys you )

 

anyway, i'm sidetracking myself. i'm going to make it my goal to lobby manufacturers who make mirrors for use in the home to include a sticker which says "you don't look nearly as bad as you think you do"

I met one of my ex boyfriends when I'd been out the night before, had 2 hours sleep, and went in to work looking very very rough!

 

I also find you see people from school or haven't seen for years when you look dodgy, cue them telling everyone else that you looked a right state!

I know what you mean, but that's ok because you can say it's because you lead an exciting life. Their well-rested looks clearly show too much sleep = no fun!
