I used to be like this a lot!

Maybe I still feel this way sometimes even now but I have learned that failure isnt a bad thing in any way.

Failure is great, we learn from it and it makes us better prepared for the next challenge we face using the knowledge that we have gained.

Try harder, Fail harder!!

Go into a situation like you've got nothing to lose and your end up making yourself a better person all round in the long run.

the more impoant the thing u need to do, the more likely u are to put it off (ok, I'm talking about ME)

also...the more important something is....tbh, you're more likely TO have something to loose. i guess the more chances u give urself, the more likely u r to succeed. rolleyes.gif

Shit your right mate, I can relate to this about something in my life that goes around in my head all the time and never do anything about it

I should take my own advice you know.....

'What doesn't kill you makes u stronger', as Terry Venables once said...tho he was quoting Nitch.

Fear of failure, & Fear in general is a positive thing. It stops you doing stupid things, like throwing yourself off cliffs. It energises you, gets the addrenaline flowing, gets u ready to tackle the cause of the fear.

The most succesful and confident people u know, will be nervous, and anxious and fearful inside, that's why they succeed. Jonny Wilkinson is a good example. So teriified of failure that he never does, fail that is!!

Fear of success is much harder, as u succed more and more people, expect more and more. Deep down, some people fail, cos they are afraid of succeding. Failure is safe, comfertable, expected.

'Oh he's always had a bad memory'..... 'I knew he'd never be able to do it'.....many people, are brought up, and many peoples parents, bring them up, to live with an expectation of failure. And if that's what you expect then that's what will happen.

You can coach yourself to succed, by setting concrete goals, and mini goals. Measuring how you are doing as you go. By visualising the success.

And just as importantly, visualising the burial of the failure, or supposed flaw, eg bad memory, in a place and leaving it there.

Works for me. Happy to chat through, in more detail with anyone.....

personally i always thought he was quoting Nietzsche wink.gif

also as for the fear of suceeding compared the fear of failing, i know which applies to me and it ain't the fear of suceeding! i know that i have an unhealthy dislike/fear of pain/rejection and of letting people down such as my parents.

Sometimes there are things i won't bother even attempting cos i know the chances of sucess are slim to none, so why bother put myself through that sorta heartache?
