I just think it's a shame that the mass media seems to induce scare mongering with regards to unrealistic drug based storylines.

I totally agree, but thats the media & the goverment for you hon!!!!

The government should legalise weed. Then they could tax it (more revenue for the public sector), and they could also put money into researching it, refining it etc.

yes but lets be honest, i think few and few people are really giving a [censored] about what they see on the news, and espcially what newspapers say, not even thinking about soap operas...

And then face the health problems that will come with smoking weed (cancer, etc), it will end up costing the government and NHS in the long run. If the government is so keen in stopping people smoking, I doubt that legalising weed would happen.

u can't directly compare weed to nicotine can u?

 

cigarettes are bad because you can get through so many of them, no one is a 40-spliff a day though are they?

Both give off free radicals when being burnt. This will damage cells in the lungs, leading to cancer.
