Just to clear something up:

 

You can actually partition your hard disc without Partition Magic, as long as you do it BEFORE you install Windows on it. You only need PM if you want to re-partition a hard drive that already has stuff on it.

 

So, if you are getting a new hard disc & you're reinstalling Windows anyway, you can set up the partitions during the install process. (The Windows installer gives you instructions on the screen.)
