Someone logged in as one of the Admin accounts and started to delete all the boards/posts until all but 2 private ones were left (once I disabled the admin accounts).

 

I've had to revert back to the last backup - which was on the 21st Sept.

 

Still investigating ...

Thought thats what had happened.

 

What useless tossers think it's fun, cool, clever to do this?

Its down to security which I'm looking at now.

I agree.

Its probably one of those twats who joined recently. You know the ones who type, well like tw4t5. Its usually hackers who type like that.

dunno, not being a hacker I have no idea how they do things, or why for that matter!!!

1) Someone could have guessed an admin account password

2) Someone could have been told an admin account password

3) Someone could have hacked the box

4) An Admin could have remained logged in with 'remember me' on another PC (like in a cafe)

 

Kev/Sarah/Mods - can you all change your passwords ASAP

 

Sure its possible to track the IP of the person who logged into the account ?

 

I hope it is. And I hope they are publically NAMED. (IF it was someone on here)

 

I hope this is possible.

Guys, lets not go down a speculating route for weeks now - it happened - end of - hopefully it wont happen again, if it does we'll sort it.

 

Enough stuff to sort out let alone this.

Could it be.

 

a) A new member that hadn't got on with the people on the board.

An old member.

c) Someone who feels the need to hack for kicks.

d) Rivalry.

Seems strange that you get a couple of wannabe hackers join the board then a few days later the [censored] starts hitting the fan.
