the latter might be easier depending on what time you travel as it might be easier to change at a station that's further out of town (quieter...). it might not be.

erm...compared to Moss Side, Toxteth, Harringay, and Stoke Brixton is relatively safe, drug fee, scally free, mugger free, and enjoys low levels of un-employment.

15 years ago it was a bad area, now it is vibrant lively, and exiciting. Some of the best clubs in London are in Brixton, Sure u need to keep your wits about you, but I think walking around brixton on your own is as safe/or unsafe as walking around the west end. And a damm site safer than loads of other areas.
