I surprisingly got rather into funky house when I was in Ibiza last week, and I am completely out of touch with it...so I am wondering which compilations would be worth spending a few quid on...preferably with tuneage...i have enough deep and techy stuff already

thanks my dears

Hed Kandi is the most reliable label. Can't go wrong with Disco Kandi and Beach House for Balearic Beats.

fao miss diddy:

i do relise that. but i find that in general DJs that base thier carrea or style on 1 genre dont tend to play the other styles to the best of its capacity. they dont have the same kind of record collection for starters. the usually have rare records etc. and the records they do have seemt o be the big obvious tunes.

eddie helliwell is probs a good funky DJ mind cuz he seems to excel in every stye of dance, but i would love to hear the records his choosen before passing judjement

You cant go wrong with the "Subliminal Sessions" CDs either.

Subliminal Sessions Vol.1 is the absolute bollocks, but the latest one, Vol.5, is gash. Surprising as Erick Morillo mixes both volumes.

Defected in the House series. A consistently good funky label. The Junior Jack & Kid Creme one is quality, got played to death in Ibiza wink.gif

Off to Ministry next Sat for a Defected night too, should be the bollocks thumbs.gif
