I think dance music is in a recession.

It's going the same way as any subculture that makes it big.

Skater trash music will do the same before long, just like britpop did before dance and whatever before that.

all the kids did reject dance music a few years ago and got into rock/indie, but one day they'll reject rock/indie again

ibiza and the big clubs are suffering because people just don't have the money any more, the economy is suffering, bordering on recession, whilst prices, especially for entertainment are rocketing through the roof...

some big clubs will (have?) fallen just like what will happen in football (and has happened in Italy), if everyone from top to bottom reduced their prices, especially some of the djs, and mixmag etc promote new small dj's more then dance music will easily survive the minor reccession it might be in

oh and the townies have got into r'n'b and it is cool for them to go see 50 Cent rather than go to Cream or Ministry

(shame)

with a bit of luck "funky" house will suffer a similar decline before long, and the irritating mullet sporting tryhards will all bugger off and stop ruining perfectly good house nights.
