I dont think dance music is dead...I just think producers have given up trying to make anything NEW now that they know they can just take something old and put a hard bassline over it and still make loads of money.

 

In short...its not dead...its just in a coma.

Funky house is no passing fad. It's been around for ages and has constantly evolved. I love the twisted techy direction it's followed over the last few years.

 

There are loads of different sorts of funky house, so I don't understand why everyone stereotypes it as "posey" or "poncy"! A lot of people just associate "funky" with the dodgy US-style sound.
