Jus got round to buyin the Tony De Vit tribute album..jus like to say..wot a guy! His remixes are absolutly superb! And his tracks were way ahead of their time! distinctly bouncy punchy hard fast beats..he pushed the boundries..pratically invented Hardhouse as it is today! His track "are you already" still sounds fantastic now..five years after his death! It still remains my fave hardhouse track of all time..wonder where he would be in his career today, had he lived? any thoughts people?? rolleyes.gifrolleyes.gifrolleyes.gif

Tony De Vit made some really cracking tracks, but i dont like the way that Tidy have releas some of his other work posthumously- if he didn't think it was good enough to be released, then why should anyone else.

Its exactly the same as the new RR Fierce track Ta Mere, if arguably the best "hard" hard house producers doesn't think one of his own tracks is good enough for release, why is it going to make any difference a few years after his death?

Its simple cashing in on dead people- summat that, in my eyes anyway, is just as wrong and depraved as necrophilia

He wouldnt be the legend he is now if he was alive imo. i think death is what made his career . every producer has their highs and lows of their career and TDV died at the high point so he'll only be remembered for what he did right. if he was still alive people would soon start saying "he made hardhouse too comertial" or "he's too techy" or "he's not as good as he used to be" etc

I agree, for example..If Elvis was still alive he wouldn't be the legend he is today and the same goes for others who have died before their time (IMO!)...

Why didn't they release it while he was alive then?

Or shortly after he died?

ta mere wasnt released soon after rr fierce's death as vicious didnt want to cash in at the time. they want to keep the ftr label going and that means long waits in between releases.
