    It's pretty funny, that to gain a post in government, you just need to be in a few films and mention nothing about policies apart from "tax cuts" and people will vote in their millions.

     

    Have a qualified person for the job and no-one will vote for them.

     

    Please remove the vote from the thick.

    On a slightly optimistic note though... IMHO this can be seen as another step in the process of the US political/ economic system getting discredited and undermined globally...

     

    Gov. Arnie... combined with the 2000 election cock up, the now minority in support of the Iraq war in the US (I think), the growing awareness of corporate influence over politicians, and growing awareness of corporate/ political influence (bias? control?) in the US media... all these things combined seem to be leading to less and less people admiring the American system... and giving ppl more confidence to stand up, and promote alternatives, to the US system (for the first time in 20 years really)

     

    just a bit of a pity Mr Blair seems to have so much unconditional heartbeat.gif for the American way

     

     

    nb - quick pre-emptive defence of myself for any Americans I might have inadvertantly offended sorry.gif there are lots of things I like about the US... the optimism, energy, confidence, ethic of personal freedom, etc, etc... just some things seem to be a tiny bit f*cked up... and because the USofA is so powerful it effects everyone in the world
