If you were to apply a specfic colour to each high-level genre which colours would you choose ? If possible provide a graphic with the associated colours ?

 

I want to create colour-coded sections for info/interviews/reviews on each genre one day.

My choices...

 

Hard House = RED

Hard Trance = ORANGE

Trance = YELLOW

Progressive = GREEN

Techno = BLUE

Hardcore = PURPLE

Happy Hardcore = PINK

Breaks = BLACK

Funky = BROWN

 

Not enough colours for every genre so I suppose you'll have to use dots, squares, stripes, flashing colours, etc to cover everything....unless you just use one colour for all the HARD genre (Freeform, HH, Hardcore)...one for the INTERMEDIATE genre (Trance, Techno etc) and so on and so forth.

 

Thats just my dodgy thoughts...take them as you want.

colours are looking good peeps but I reckon trance should be green ? (i suppose because of lasers) and funky should be pinkish ?

Hard trance should be the color mix of trance and hard house: i.e red and blue = purple

wouldnt it make more sence grouping hardhouse and hardtrance into 1 heading (harddance)

 

that way u dont have too many colours or simular genres thus cutting down on confusion.

 

harddance/hardstyle (yellow) cybor kids

drum n bass (black) pretty obvious why i'd say

funky (orange) as its a sun-kissed kinda genre

techno/electro (brown) as its a dirty colour

trance (green) reach for the lazers

hardcore/freeform/gabba/other stupidly fast [censored] (purple) because its a horrible horrible colour

house/prog/breaks (blue) as i've ran out of colours that contrast enuf to be instantly reconisable from another colour
