WTF is "serious" music?

 

I'm not as hung up as I used to be on whether stuff is "cool" enough for me to like it. House music is house music. Good tunes are good tunes. Much as I crave gritty/underground/"clever" techno and house, I'm still a sucker for some really tuneful/commercial/simple tracks.

Agreed with everything you've said here. (Equally, some 150bpm "hard" house is much more accessible than some underground funky house.)

* some hard house

(and loads of other stuff)

 

but I don't see why I should have to put in some disclaimer like "oh but by the way I hate: Supermen Lovers, DJ Sammy, and bouncy/hoover-led hard house!"

 

i.e. since when did saying "I like funky house" mean "I like every funky house track"?
