Ive got a desktop icon right which appeared after browsing the web right, its a shortcut to a program that has been istalled on my puter in some sort of sneaky fashion.

i couldnt find the program for a while and just kept deleting the shortcuts of the desktop, ive found it by looking in the properties bit (doh twat) and it wont let me delete it, its saying:

Cannot delete: Access denied.

Make sure the disk is not full or write protected and that the file is currently in use.

well its on my hard drive, so im not using a disk & its just sitting on c:

and obviously im not running because i havnt dared opening it.

any ideas

Either that, or kill the exceutable in processes (via the task manager), and then delete it. Easy-peasy!

not quite, a lot of these are gettin quite clever. They use the reg files to reinstall themselves as they have a file that looks like it can't be associated with that. hence why they keep installing themselves once you think they are deleted. Clever bastards and fuckin annoying.
