Well as a nurse I would have thought you would have known about antibiotics for hyperacute tonsilitis maelitis.......thats the highly virulent strain of tonsilitis I get and it only effects around 1 in 10000 people in the UK.....

 

Its caused by the normal gut bacteria helicobactor pylori........its safe in certain areas of your stomach but quite the opposite in other areas of the body including the throat....hence the need for antibiotics.....
