i was thinking that as well. and the female DJs that are there arnt really the ones that deserve to be there.

i've come to expect very little from these polls though as it really is more of a pupularity contest. but then i wouldnt expect it to be a true representation when its covering every side of dance music as people can only vote for DJs they reconise and not every DJ that deserves to be reconised is public knowlage

what's the point of these polls/lists? what's the point of arguing about them?

 

for everybody who says "x should be lower" there's somebody else who believes that "x should be #1"

 

they're pointless. it's free marketing for whoever publishes them and you're all rewarding them appropriately. sorry for the cynicism but art is not a competition.

At the end of the day, you take this kind of "Poll" at face value.

Its a popularity contest.

The poll is from DJmag though, so I would imagine a vast majority of the votes have come from DJs. This is a public/clubbers/DJs vote, of who they deem to be the top DJ
