Dido's ok but quite bland and insipid, there are loads of better female singer/songwriters out there

Dido is definately along the same lines as David Gray and Macy Gray (possibly distant relatives)

One or two of her songs are pretty reasonable. Most of it is bland, middle-of-the-road pap - music for people who aren't really into music. Her voice is nasal & whiney.

 

She would be 'nobody' if it hadn't been for that Eminem track.

sorry Andy, but that's unfair on Dido- she was singing on faithless tracks for years before the eminem track (and her album had sold 1m in the US before that).

 

I personally like her voice and her music, though it can be pretty backgroundy (the lyrics on the first album are superb and were mainly written by her brother, Rollo- so she is actually singing about his relationship break-up rather than her own).
