yeah - Eire's a foreign country, you'll definitely need it. NI would be a different story I guess...

thats what i thought but iv just been told i was wrong

i've been to dublin and i didn't need my passport. I remember cos everyone on the trip was trying to wind me up saying, "you have got your passport havnt u?" and i was panicking cos i didnt. But no, you dont need your passport to travel anywhere in the british isles.

right - my bad. apparently you don't. i feel like a plonker now.

Domestic flights require photographic ID, whether that be a Passport or Driving Licence.

come to think of it, i went by ferry. So that would explain it!
