What is the point in having a 'promote yourself' forum when people just go and post about where they're djing next in 'event suggestions'.

 

This forum should be used for meetups for existing members and a place to gain new members. Its littered with people promoting themselves.

i think the promote yourself section is aimed more at personal websites and promotor websites.

 

If someone is hosting a nite - it would make sence to put it in the event suggestion forum

Yeah, but I think it kind of goes against the ethics of this site (in my eyes anyway). Emphasis needs to be taken away from the promotion (of websites, nights etc) and put into meetups. The site is just gonna become one big advertisement otherwise.

i dont see the problem in people using the event suggestions to promote themselves too because it is giving people ideas for a night out at the same time.
