Obviously, wait until the numbers are announced. If you don't win, sue him for deception / theft / fraud or something. And prod him with one of those pointy dental tools.

I'd always just re-invest any winnings under a grand back into the next draw !

Still on the subject of the lottery: if you want to get the optimal return on your investment, I think you're suppsed to buy like 8 tickets a week or something? I think this (marginally) increases your average winnings (as in the tenners etc) so long as you choose numbers to achieve maximum "coverage" across the 49 numbers.

Obviously you're still pretty unlikely to win the jackpot, smile.gif but apparently if you can afford a few tickets a week, there is an optimal number of tickets to buy so that you get back the biggest proportion of your investment.

This may be a load of bollocks -- I'll try and work out whether there's any truth in it.

(BTW before I get a load of flak, I am fully aware there are much more profitable forms of gambling than the National Lottery!)

P.S. I am fascinated by how many people do the "stupid" thing and choose birthdays (like everyone else) or obvious sequences like 1,2,3,4,5,6.

Disclaimer: yes I realise this argument is kinda circular (it's only stupid to do it cos everyone else does it). smile.gif

birthdays etc are bad cos u cut out all the numbers over 31/whatever the max num is, and it's meant to be a good idea to use different numbers each week, because if you choose the same ones, and the week you forget to play is the week thse numbers come up, u r going to top yourself unsure.gif

Only if you're stupid.

I'd rather just stick a few quid on Ladbrokes.com

More chance of winning something!
