Hiya!!

 

Just got myself a second job working at a hostel that I used to live at as the events manager!! Woohoo!! In a nutshell I pretty much run around and talk to people for a couple of hours each night and get them to come out drinking, then take them out and get [censored]-faced with them.. and get paid for it! fun fun fun...

 

I was just wondering does anybody know any good places to go on a Friday or Saturday night, that are relatively cheap (or free) to get in to... or of any websites that do special offers or things like that? Preferably under £10 (these people are backpackers and dont have much dosh), somewhere you can dance, drink, and get away with not having to dress too classy... ohhh, and close to the west end, cause it is in Piccadilly.

 

BTW... loved meeting you guys over the past two weekends. Your all such sweethearts!!! Cant wait to meet the rest of you...

It's not to bad actually...

 

I lived there for about 3 months when I first arrived (sad I know but it is cheap and very central)... drank every night, went out somewhere different all the time... met some awesome people!! (Over 600 people stay there)

 

But, I gotta say... talk about Melrose Place... everyone is sleeping with everyone!!

 

lol, you won't find many good places up west end! Most have shite cheesy music, you have to dress up a bit to get in (at the weekend u do anyway) and the drinks are bloody expensive!

 

Luu luu - Hostels and homeless shelters are totally different things u dimwit!

Loads of good cheap nightclubs in london..Unfortunately very few are cheap to get into, in the west end, unless you are taking loads of people as a group. Which you are so: here is a list of all the nightclubs in London that are in the 'west end' and on whose individual websites you will find details of how to get paying guest lists sorted out, ect. (ignore the fact that it is a limo website) Taking twenty people to any venue early normally gets promoters quite exited, so they will throw in free place or two as long as everyone arrives at the same time. Also bear in mind that the venue rarely promotes it's own night...so u may need to contact the promoter of the night in question to sort out the list. + These people work afternoons and evenings so ringing at 9.00am is not going to get u very far. Drinks will be problematic..4 pound for a beer ect.

 

So if it is cheap drinks in the west end you are after, you need to be thinking in terms of a wetherspoons first..then moving on to the nightclub. But bear in mind some peeps won't be let in if they are too pissed. + Bar's like Onanon in Piccadilly that don't charge entry & have a nightclub component and do a happy hour.

 

Moving out of the West End means generally cheaper prices, and cheaper entry. Brixton is ace. And Authentic....Kingston, Wimbledon, Clapham, Vauxhall all have clubs and bars that are cheap if not free to get into and have great music policies. (I am a south london boy..so hesitate recommending North, West or East london venues, as I would not be seen dead....but i am sure there are a couple of good ones...except in east london (or creamy land) obviously....Again if you take loads of peeps they will tear your arm off.

 

Dress code is less of an issue with a group, but you should check with the promoter to make sure what is allowed and what is not.

 

Also join the alist..www.alist.co.uk a mailing list for free entry to many clubs.

I know, I know... but, unfortunately you have to cater for the 'cheesy music' crowd. Although, given the choice I would much rather take them out to listen to some trance or HH. But, I dont really know how well that would go down...

I wish I could take everyone out of the westend, but seeing as they are backpackers, they are kinda tight with their money... (funny, you think they would realise that London is expensive )

Some of the fittest birds can be found in these places!

Tranquility - dont use A-list they r shite - we used them for ctw xmas do last yr & we basically never got in

Tho for cheesey clubs - try Hombres jsut off oxford St is prob ideal - I use to go there years ago - its about £7 - £8 to get in but then all drinx r only £1 each all nite - its full of real sleaze tho if large groups r going then its prob ok n well tbh anywhere in central london is full of sleaze!!

The Zoo Bar isnt too bad neither tho drinx r bit pricier the crowd n tunes in there r slightly better!

Wotever you do, dont go through Aliist. they were supposed to sort out the CTW Xmas party last year. They took our deposits and [censored] off. They are well dodgy!!!!!

 

You wont get many free clubs in the west end. some of them like hombres (as bunnykins jst reminded me) have v.cheap drinxs though. Some of the late night bars are free if you go in early on and some go on till bout 2 or 3am.
