dont know if its the board or my pc (shouldnt be though cus iv not had any probs elsewhere), but sometimes when i type a reply and put a smilie at the end it deletes it back to the first word.

for some reasn yesterday my grouphug smilie changed into rachels tweenie avatar

 

it could be something simple like having your text highlighted when you click the smiley, that would wipe it.

nope, thats the first thing i thought of but i always check the screen now when i add a smilie, it still does it

I can't say that I've had that problem on here, but I have had it on other UBB message boards - annoying isn't it

maybe you could just type the UBB code for the smiley in manually?
