Just bought a digital video camcorder today and was told i needed a firewire card and cable to upload film to my pc. But now i've just read that firewire is 400bps whereas usb 2.0 (which i have) is 480bps. Surely that means that my usb would be better for the job? Thanks for any advice received......

usb 2.0 is generally faster, main thing is that usb 2.0 is barely powered up, a firewire connection could charge up your camcorder at same time as well i think.
