I spent the last 2 summers working away at a bar in Turkey and It's quite an experience but the hours are just too long and by the end of the summer you need a weeks solid sleep!

I was offered a job as an 18-30 rep a few years back and I've always wanted to do that but the timing has never been right. Now is the perfect time to do it.

Sadly a lot of people are being made redundant (always after xmas), my last company has just made EVERY developer redundant and are out-sourcing the development to India - where developers cost about 5 times less than here ! I know a few other people panicking about this now as well.

I've been in IT for just over a year and I don't really think its for me anyway. I was going to have to make a decision soon, but they've made it for me now.

[censored] hell. Same here mate. Although our dates have yet to be confirmed we are definately out of here by the summer - latest, April earliest. Like you I dont few that bad about it, its a kick up the arse to find a fresh job in a new area hopefully with some decent lunchtime pubs.

I've just found out that I are trying to [censored] me in the arse. Because of my age, I'm not entitled to statuatory redundancy pay even though I've been with this company for five years. They're saying I can have jan/feb wages plus 5 weeks extra. Cunts.

Surely that's illegal? Get some free legal aid my son.

Even I'm getting a better deal than that and I've only been back here 16 months.

Whats a union??? Defo gona get some legal advice but the crafty bastard who's done this has it all figured out. He knew he could stiff me cos of my age.
