Having been a Partridge fan for years I'm starting to think that maybe The Office is funnier- any thoughts?

It was rather sad but when I took some time out and went travelling the person I missed most was Alan Partridge...

... funnily enough my relationship with my girlfriend didn't survive that revelation!

There's yet another top 100 thing going on on the bbc- comedy this time- I'm hoping to god something like Dad's Army doesn't win.

My top five British comedies:

1. Fawlty Towers

2. The Office

3. Alan Partridge

4. The New Statesman (Rik Mayall as Alan B'Stard)

5. Porridge

Comedy genius award- Chris Morris for 'The Day Today' and 'Brass Eye'.

Must admit i'm getting fed up of Fools & Orses - the twats are milking it waaaay too much. Hence why Faulty is back at the top of my list again smile.gif

I would do a top 5, but then I'd have to do a top 10, then a top 5 films etc..

You probably have to have worked in an office at some point to appreciate just how realistic some of the characters are! Honestly, the number of characters in that program that are uncannily like people I've met at past workplaces (or at university) is uncanny!

Did anyone see the Xmas special? I thought the final episode was fantastic. thumbs.gif

My top five comedies goes something like:

1. The League of Gentlemen

2. Father Ted

3. The Office

4. Red Dwarf

5. The Day Today
