How are they not?

 

Shit dialogue, massive special effects, fun storyline and general space opera.

 

Seem pretty similar to me.

To me the newest editions, though great fun, are a little too clinical in delivery. They lack the wobbly set pieces and rubberised aliens. In contratst to the slick, but empty feeling "prequals". The actors seem to be a little too removed from their surroundings, maybe a result of having shot many scenes on a green sound stage.

 

Though thoroughly enjoyable, they do lack a certain charm I had grown accustomed to with the originals.

4 5 and 6 - stronger dialogue/characters, "real" special effects (not CG)

 

1 and 2 - amazing special effects which almost overtook the (less classy) dialogue.

 

 

1 and 2 had more of a "we have to make a few things happen to rpepare for 4 5 and 6" feel about it,

 

4 5 and 6 felt more "this is what's hapening".

what makes this "argument" even more pointless is that if someone said to me "episode 1 and 2" were crap, i'd say that they weren't as good as the others, but they were still pretty good, and not crap.

 

lets argue about politics or religion instead.

star wars the original movie was tops but the rest aint my cuppa tea
