babycakes is even hated in the garage scene...although it was liked when it first come out 18 months ago, but the new commercial remix is tripe!

I hardly think this tune is representative of the garage scene... that's like judging the tech-trance scene by Ian Van Dahl.

 

Some garage is quality (I've got some great stuff from a few years back). It's not something I've kept up with though; the genre was raped by the whole "bad boy" / "phat bassline" thing.

I was well into the old/original US garage - probably the first decent genre I got into ! (when I finally realised there were actually clubs which didnt play 'school-disco-bandwagon' music (god i HATED them years)

I used to be really into the cheesy happy hardcore scene when i was youinger.

 

one "classic" that was back then is the pretty green eyes track that ultrabea have stolen and reworked.

 

I'm quite glad i've now gone sensible in my tastes of dance music
