I was on holiday in Spain the week after I got mine pierced, I was eating ice lollies and sucking ice cubes all the time, but it hardly helped at all. I think the amount of pain also depends on which part of the tongue you get pierced. Mine was pierced quite far back, because my veins were in the way. If yours was pierced nearer the tip, the swelling would be considerably less.

i wanted mine doing, but me mate had hers dun the day b4 i was ment 2 have mine so i dint coz she was all "oh i had mine 1st" i no stupid reason not 2 have it dun but i was only 17, plouss wen i had a look around the place the bloke sed, "we will put 4 in that"

That tongue is massive. Anyhow don't get it pierced. It's fucking ugly. A girl doesn't need any piercings bar ears and maybe belly imo. And boys? What the fuck all boys need is one decent watch.

I thought it was a relatively small tongue.
