Like I said there was a Legacy Of Kain that came out in the very early days of teh Playstation it was a top down viewed RPG which played like Zelda on the SNES and Secret of Mana. It was an excellent game, then the sequels turned 3D and platformed based almost. Fucking shite.

 

And as for Final Fantasy VII it was linear to initially complete the game but there is so much more to it which makes it a great game. Like levelling up, finding all the Limet 4 break limets, Summons, beating Emerald and Ruby Weapon, raising gold chocobos, finding secret characters and and secret cut scenes etc. And the storyline is most certainly Squares finest moment. Secret of Mana didn't really seem like a real RPG to me, nor Zelda or that Alundra game. They are 2D adventure games. The FF series has been going on long before Mana and are the Original RPGs. End of.

 

Lazy Gunn what's wrong with my taste in RPGs. Have you played Suikoden 2 or Arc? Have you tried these RPGs?

Oh and talking about Secret of Mana any of you played it's sequel Legend Of Mana?

 

ive been playing ff9 chrono cross and xenogears for a bit and they've been ok, but your other rpgs mean nothing to me really, they are all typical jap rpgs which don't really hold my interest

 

how you can call Legacy of Kain a good rpg but miss out games like baldurs gate 1&2, plancescape torment, kotor and stuff like morrowind and arx fatalis i just dont know

 

chris, i'm in delta labs 2b, i havent played for a few days but it's livening up.. aparently i go to hell in the next few levels

I used to LOVE playing Treasure Island on the Amega (I think it were).

have u played the star wars rpg on xbox? I loved that - the fact you have a choice in the way you go about EVERYTHING (leading to darkside or lightside powers based upon choices) is how an rpg should be imo!

 

classic example - someone being mugged in the street....

 

do you:

A) walk away

help them

C) help them, then kill the person and rob him yourself

 

obviously, there are a lot more complex ones that delve into ethical based stories (in one instacne you find a cure to a disease - do you make it available to the planets health service for free, or sell it on the black market via the local hutt?)

 

defo worth a play if you havent yet

 

 

FABLE looks pretty damn good as well.... think that gets released in october??

'hell' sounds a fun place lol - guess that means your near the place where the problem kicked off! Delta labs is the area they were testing in, so it seems likely!
