Since Alasdair wants somewhere central, what was wrong with Tasha's suggestion? (Wetherspoons, Holborn -- where the beer is cheaper & there's less chance of people being turned away!)

I'm up for anywhere - not a problem - just need to make sure we dont change the details once decided as this has been a problem in the past - please note that some people turn up at the last minute and dont necessarily post to say they are coming ..

LE there is only 1 Yates in Leicester Square:

Let me know if you have problems finding it. Am I right in saying you are going to come along then?

 

Holborn is not central really and as Alasdair has said, central is best for him.

 

It is easier and less confusing if we pick a place and stick to it. You can never please anyone.

 

Also Yates is cheap and if no one likes it, once we all meet...the bars are our oyster!

Eh? Holborn's just round the corner from Leicester Square. One stop from Tottenham Court Road on the Central Line I think.

 

Also I find Wetherspoons a bit more sociable volume-wise (i.e. no crap music played at excessive volume) plus we're more likely to get a seat there too. There are more Wetherspoons pubs of course, but I think Tasha's point is that there are more seats in the Holborn one.

 

Just food for thought, anyhow.

 

(I have no ulterior motive -- it's actually easier for me personally to get to Leicester Square; I just thought Tasha's suggestion was a good one.)
