been thinking about getting mine done my friends mum had hers done and alot of strange coincedentil(sp) stuff was said

personally I think it's bullshit

 

but at the same time I wouldn't want to do it in case I heard something I didn't want to!

I have been three times in the past few years, and all have been good. One was free and was spot on with alot of things she told me that has happened in past (nothing bad btw) and what was going to happen a few months from then.

 

The other 2 I paid £10 each - and both were very good, aswell.

 

I DO believe in this stuff - although some are just money makers. You just have to make sure you don't pick a dodgy psyco, that's all.

personally i think it's a laod of horseshit. just people playing on people's insecurities and a good knowlege of how the mind works.

 

it's amazing what you can do with a receptive mind to this sort of thing and someone who knows a bit about how the brain works.

 

ask derren brown for instance.

i saw a programme where they taught people to read minds by "cold reading" in that they pick up things that the person does - read their body language and their reactions to the things they say

 

and pick up on those so it seems they are readin their minds or speaking to someone that they know who is dead

 

I think that's terrible that people's feelings are played with like that

^ Indeed. There was a good program (it might have been DB, can't remember) where they demonstrated how easy it was to con people (usually middle-aged women with low self-esteem) into believing you have psychic powers, just by clever use of language and psychology.

 

I.e. saying lots of very vague and general comments, that in fact apply to most people, in a very articulate, assertive, specific-sounding manner.

Did they work out that she was female, had untapped potential, and predict that she would go to the toilet within 48 hours?

you don't get the clues fomr body language but the person still thinsk the same way, use the same vague guiding statments, cues from verbal inflections, etc.

 

and cos she wants to believe as well which helps a lot.

meaningful can be taken to mean whatever most people want and 6 months is a pretty long amount of time for someone to be be able to go find someone.

 

especially since they've been told they will and be more confident in themselves and thus improve their chances.
