I've had to move back to my parents' house due to being ripped off by my new landlord.

    Haha I was thinking of making lots of anonymous prank phonecalls to him. Leah, didn't you see my thread in Gurn about it?

     

    Basically, he conned me rather than ripping me off. A couple of weeks ago I looked round one of his houses which was sooo nice. Way too good for students. He subsequently promised me a room in there. I got back from holiday last week and he told me that he had let the house to a group of people so there were no longer any rooms, but he had another house that was just as nice. I moved into this new house on Saturday, well just dropped all my stuff off and went to the parents house for the rest of the weekend. Got back to the house on Sunday and it turns out to be an absolute dive. A fridge full of black mould, damp, filthy carpets, glass all over the floor. All I had in my bedroom was a frigging mattress! I was pretty upset obviously, and spent much of yesterday in tears. So my Dad came last night and took all my stuff back to Reading.

     

    Sorry, a bit long winded. I've reported him to the accomm office and got all my money back, but I can never trust another landlord.
