lots of things in the paper and in descriptions seem to be "work alternate weekends" or "must be on call" etc.

 

It seems like most stuff now a days doesn't give you your weekend

I cant remember the last time I worked 9-5.

 

I've NEVER done a 9am - 5pm shift though. I dont think I could. I've been working nights for over 11 years now, I've always been a night person, even when I was at school.

Did they not change it after Dolly Parton sang that god awful song *working 9 to 5*

I work from 9 to 5.

I go back to working 8am - 6pm Monday to Friday next week, with a 40 minute commute on top ! Its not humane I tell you !

 

Many years ago when I left uni though I worked for Gala Bingo and my contract stated that I had to do 35 hours and be present at least 3 days. As I did the work rota and I did them over 2.5 days Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and spent the weekends going out with my mates. As everyone worked on shift patterns nobody ever seemed to notice. It was great - even if you worked 8am - 1am the following morning some days.

i just had a severely impromptu interview for an 8:30-5:30 job!!!

smitten - nice one well if u can put a good side forward that's a good thing...having been to the one today...i can actually say I did "enjoy" it kinda...i think saying i "found it useful" is more accurate actually..and more practice would be a good thing.
