Most of the Dave the Drummer stuff I've heard sounds more like hard house to me. (Not that that necessarily makes it bad. I just don't think it does justice to techno as a genre, that's all.)

It seems that if somebody writes hard house that ISN'T shit, a load of people will insist "but it's not hard house!" Hence, the supposed shitness of hard house is self-perpetuating.

 

One of my favourite tunes at the moment is (as far as I'm concerned) hard house. I don't feel the need to deny that it is hard house, just because it is a bit different from the norm.

Have to agree Moo, most of the HH is crap at the mo & the stuff Dave the drummer, Andy Farley, Bk etc are turning out is fresh sounding, ok it may not be pure techno, but the sound is fresh & new compared to some of the HH being played, which IMO is either too hard now or too bouncy

Why not call it "good hard house" then?

well ok then good HH with a techy feel, im actually enjoying it, its not all bosh bosh if you know what I mean
