  1. I thought the expression was "a force to be reckoned with" not "a force not to be reckoned with"...?! In fact, didn't I mention this to you by PM some time ago? One other thing Mr Elemental: do you ever worry that you're going to be a jack of all trades but master of none? (computer games designer, programmer, web designer, studio engineer, multimedia company proprietor, composer, DJ... martial arts... hmm) As a wannabe DJ/composer myself, and having a day-job as a software engineer, I can tell you I barely have any spare time to do anything else... Thank you. You have no idea how happy I am to see that I am not the only person who has tried to wrap his/her mind around the phrase "a force NOT to be reckoned with" without becoming totally confused by its convoluted meaning in its blatantly incorrect context. It seems to me that if you are a "professional" and this is your "slogan" then it should make basic grammatical sense. As it is, it ends up sounding, according to strict definition, as if you are a person not to be reckoned with--in other words, not threatening, intimidating, or "forceful" at all. It's actually kind of amusing at that point. I mean, sorry, maybe I'm a sucker for semantics, but, again, it just seems to be a basic, logical point. The phrase is correct when used as the above dictionary link uses it: "A man to be reckoned with." Anyway, I don't know any of you people as I live in the states but I have actually checked out your "elemental" website (I don't know, too much time on my hands) and the writing is so hyperbolic and grammatically incorrect that it strikes me as amateurish--as if some sycophant wrote it or you just wrote it yourself and discussed yourself in the third person--which if true is just kinda irritating and pretentious. Anyway, everytime I check it (cuz I've got some sneaking suspicions) there's never any music to actually hear, though the site always mentions that some is coming shortly--but it never does. A lot of talk about plans, albums, mixes, etc but never so much as a sample of a song. I don' know, just seems weird.
  2. Not everyone who lives here is a dickhead. In fact, some of us, living in Texas, no less, hate all the [censored] guns too.
  3. Exactly. Totally agree with everything you said but especially points made above. Again, and forgive me if I'm belaboring a point, but I really don't understand why anyone cares about which forums other users spend their time browsing and/or posting in. This topic, in some form or another, has now become the gist of several posts within various forums on this site. Not to mention that certain others are now congratulating and hailing the wit of any post that pokes at and teases the so-called "serious forum people" as if it is somehow much "cooler" not to engage in serious discussions but rather simply carry on with general random ironic banter. The original post (and its back-slapping, ass-kissing cousins) carry implied and sometimes not so implied insults to the "serious forum people". To wit, that they are 1. elevating themselves above other members in terms of intelligence 2. boring 3. lack lives and 4. unable to take a joke. These are all patently false, but again (and forgive me for being "serious"), what is the point? Why is it so wonderful and witty to comment on where people spend their time on this site?

No, you're right. I'm really not as politically correct as my reply makes me sound--in fact, quite the opposite. Perhaps I've been in America too long and PC sensibilities are simply taking over my brain by osmosis.

PEANUT-SMUGGLER? What the [censored] is that supposed to mean? Ever seen a person in the throes of athletic competition, with a finely tuned camera focused on them, capturing a random isolated moment? I really don't know why I'm getting so bent out of shape about this......but I really wonder about your caption for the photo (i.e. its interpretation, your intent, etc). Perhaps I should just be happy you didn't say "banana-smuggler".
  6. I agree. If it's based on recent past events and/or the general global situation then people should realize that most of us simply live here based on birth and are pretty much just like you--otherwise you just come across as purely ignorant in terms of the reasoning behind your so-called "hate".
  7. as I've prowled this board for nearly a year and have just now finally registered. Have gotten a good sense of your community by doing this (till I eventually felt like a creepy voyeur) and think you have a great thing going here. I'm a yank from Texas, 31 year old male, and I teach high school (theatre, debate, speech) and despite all this dorkiness I still love to club!!!! (though the scene in the states for the most part pales in comparison to you guys). Anyway, am glad I finally registered and looking forward to getting to know ya'll (sorry, Texas talk) better--especially as I take a couple of trips every year across the pond!!!! BTW James--nothing wrong with living it up at 31. Trust me!!!
