Magnetix – 1st Birthday – Fri 29th Aug @ Club 414, with K90!
Birthdays are always a tricky time when they come along. Arranging secret birthday parties, rushing around buying cards and presents as well as making sure your friends actually turn up can make it a nightmare at the best of times! But here at Magnetix (in case you haven’t noticed yet) we like be a bit different, and we like to think that we go that extra mile too! So even though it’s our birthday, we have some presents for you! These come in the form of LIVE downloadable DJ mixes, recorded from all the DJs at our superb May party. So if you missed it then you can listen in on what you missed, or if you were there you can relive it all over again; we have, many, many times! Where can you download these we hear you cry? Where else but our website, www.magnetixuk.com. Once there, direct your browser to the Mixes section, where you’ll find not only the live recordings from all the DJs at the May event, but also a selection of previous mixes from the Magnetix residents! However, thankfully for this birthday party, you don’t have to worry about any of that present malarkey. All you have to worry about is how long you’re going to stay, and how many friends you are going to bring with you! Indeed, we don’t want birthday presents, cards or even sweets. Oh no, all we want is lots of party people to help us celebrate our first birthday in style on Friday 29th August @ Club 414. And to help you do just that, we have brought a few friends with us… Our main act for the night is a name synonymous with quality Trance/Hard Trance the world over. Responsible for 3 critically acclaimed, chart topping artist albums and with a fourth well on the way, we can only be talking about the legendary K90! As the man who has produced for more anthems and classics than you can shake a stick at as well as being the driving force behind the groundbreaking Dataless Records, we really can’t think of anyone else we would rather have to help us celebrate our first birthday. K90 has also generously agreed to record an exclusive mix for us, which will only be available as a limited edition CD to the first 50 people through the door. But if you just can’t wait until then you can hear some clips of his new album and of what to expect from him on the night here www.myspace.com/k90music! Along with K90, we are also bringing back two DJs who are very well known to the Magnetix faithful. Firstly we have Jon the Baptist, a man who has achieved a near God like status in his native South West, as well as managing to find the time to juggle not only a hectic DJ schedule which has taken him all over the country, but also to keep on producing some of the finest hard trance sounds which can be found on some of the biggest and best labels both on these shores as well as all over Europe Joining Jon is another regular Magnetix guest, Jurrane. The trance maestro has been a busy beaver in the studio of late with production partner Sly One, with recent remix work just out on Conspiracy and Future State Records respectively, as well as keeping up the DJ appearances with recent gigs for the likes of Planet Angel and Parallel amongst others. Our last guest is none other than up and coming DJ Mat Lock. Part of the crew of promoters and DJs whom without there just simply would be no Magnetix, Mat Lock will be taking over the 2 hour warm up slot for his last set before he embarks on a year long sabbatical around the world. Let’s make sure we send him off in style! As usual, no Magnetix would be quite right without the trio of residents! After leaving everyone at the last event gagging for more with a thunderous last set, Dean Zone returns, and he promises to bring his imitable Euro sound and flair with him. Phil Lankester, widely regarded amongst many as one of the most underrated DJs in the London scene, will be showcasing his newly found Ableton skills under his new guise, Libra 9. Expect his trademark full on party Psy Trance, just even more mashed up than before! And let’s not forget Ashley James. If you were lucky enough to get your hands on a copy of his Magnetix Vol. 3 mix then thank your lucky stars, as we have been literally swamped with emails requesting more of the same. If you weren’t lucky enough to get your hands on one of the 50 copies we had on the night then never fear, you can also find this on our website, www.magnetixuk.com, available to download or steam. And for those of you who don’t want to go home come 06:00, the Magnetix after party will be running from 06:30 till late, with DJs Andy Forse, Lorenzo Barrero, Kevster, Timmy Whiz and Farhada! Please note, we here at Magnetix are not content with just turning up, putting up set times, switching on the decks and playing some music. Oh no. It is our mission to give you, the clubber, a much more personal clubbing experience. On the night we will be decking out Club 414 to the max. Expect psychedelic décor, vinyl give aways, free mix cds courtesy of our special guest K90 for the first 50 people through the door, free glow sticks and bands, free tickets to other events and lots more. Couple that with the best chill out room of any club in London, dedicated club Photographers, a roof terrace for the smokers and of course, the legendary 414 café (what other club in London can you get a Cheese Toasty from?) and you’d be mad to miss out! We are also doing our best to support new talent and push new DJs. With a strictly any type of Trance music policy, we are always open to receiving demos. Just hand your demo in at the door when you arrive. All demos will be listened to by a member of the team and you will receive feedback. Magnetix - Fri 30th May @ Club 414, with Sutekh + Ehren Stowers!
Having only recently recovered from our near sell out February party, God (or someone indeed!) has saw fit to grace the month of May with an extra weekend with which to host the third instalment of what is fast becoming the talk of the underground clubbing scene. In fact, if you missed it, or even if you were there and want to relive it all over again, you can! Magnetix resident Ashley James’ closing set is now available from our website, www.magnetixuk.com. Following on from Kristian was never going to be easy, but we think he nailed it. But don’t take our word for it, you can listen for yourself! Go to www.magnetixuk.com now, where you can download or stream the mix from the front page! But enough talk of the past; let us talk of the future! Ladies and Gentlemen, we are very proud to announce that Magnetix is back at the legendary Club 414 on Friday 30th May, ready to rock your world one more time. Our main guest for the evening is none other than Psy Trance legend in the making, Sutekh. He has residencies seemingly coming out of his ears (most notably Transcience, Logic and the behemoth that is Antiworld), and an equally impressive collection of production releases. Having rocked pretty much all of the largest dance floors London has to offer (Brixton Academy, Coronet, Turnmills, SeOne, Renaissance Rooms, The Colosseum) as well as bookings nationally and internationally, we are very proud to have Sutekh showcase his full on Psy Trance sound for the Magnetix and 414 faithful to experience. We guarantee you will not be disappointed. Ehren Stowers is not only a Trance DJ, but also part of the team that brought you the fantastic Trance Generation which recently had Hidden rocking and packed to the rafters. With a solid production history behind him including releases on Mondo and Monster Tunes amongst others, a gig history including The Gallery, Heat, Innovate and Riot! as well as playing alongside some of the biggest DJs the world of trance has to offer, including Blank & Jones, Giuseppe Ottaviani, and Paul Oakenfold (yes, we are serious!). We think his achievements speak for themselves, so imagine how honoured we were when he agreed to play for us. This is one DJ really not to be missed! On a slightly different note, Louk is our third guest of the evening. After being a resident at the now defunct Plymouth Dance Academy, he went on to start his own promo distribution website. He now deals with promo material for labels all across Europe, from the UKs No. 1 Hard Trance label Addiction Digital, to Dave Joys Swiss based Joyride imprint and Trance NRG of Italy, among many, many more. This has no doubt helped his already flourishing DJ career as he now plays regularly all over the UK, including the likes of The Sanctuary Festival, Resonate, Atmosphere and Bionic in Wales . Production wise young Louk has also been doing very well, with a healthy back catalogue of tunes out on labels Druck, Trance NRG, Club Quake and Thrust Groove, as well as a hectic upcoming release schedule. You can expect his trademark immersion of hard techy trance to utterly blow you away! Our last but by no means least guest this evening will be birthday boy Timmy Whiz. One of the more colourful characters you will find on just about any dance floor (where he can usually be found at the front), Timmy has successfully translated his passion for the music over to the other side of the decks. Part of the Puzzle Project crew and newly crowned resident/promoter at the newest 414 after party, reFre5h, Timmy has proved that he is just as good a DJ as he is a raver, and will be kick starting Magnetix with a 2 hour birthday set. We can’t wait almost as much as he can! Of course, no Magnetix would be complete without its trio of residents: Phil Lankester, quite possibly one of the busiest DJs in the scene, including residencies at Puzzle Project, Alumni and Just Groove, will be taking on a slightly earlier set than before, allowing him to showcase a more progressive Psy sound. Ashley James, recently announced Recreation resident, has been busy working away in the studio of late, with the fantastic Futreform coming out on Technikal recordings, young Ashley just keeps going from strength to strength. Finally this brings us to Dean Zone. Purveyor of all things European, Dean has been rolling in the gigs in of late, including upcoming performances at Hidden, Factory and even Ministry of Sound. And for those of you who don’t want to go home come 06:00, the Magnetix afterparty will be running from 06:30 – very late, with DJs Mat Lock, 2shay, Kevster and Conrad Bruce, all for just £5. Please note, we here at Magnetix are not content with just turning up, putting up set times, switching on the decks and playing some music. Oh no. It is our mission to give you, the clubber, a much more personal clubbing experience. On the night we will be decking out Club 414 to the max. Expect psychedelic décor, vinyl give aways, free mix cd’s for the first 50 people through the door, free glow sticks and bands, free tickets to other events and lots more. Magnetix
After our sell out launch party back in September, we at Magnetix are back to rock the 414 again like only we know how. With us we will be bringing some of the most highly recognised and respected DJs and Artists, alongside our already established residents. On Friday 29th February 2008, Magnetix will play host to: Kristian This DJ needs no introduction to Psy Trance fans. He has toured with Astrix and played at a lot of the biggest parties on the Psy Trance scene. A resident DJ for both Psygate and Chichime here in London and Psy-Files in Istanbul as well as compilations and mixes for both Transient Records and Psygate, it’s fair to say that Kristian is fairly on top of his game. Expect to be blown away by this superb DJ. It’s an honour and a privilege to have him down… Jon the Baptist After an incident involving Jon’s car and a herd of Cows preventing him from appearing at our September event, we thought it only right to get him back down for February. One of the most consistent Hard Trance producers and DJs you will find, with more releases than most producers could wish for, Jon is not short of talent. One of the most respected DJs in the country returns to the 414 for the first time in over a year. Miss it, miss out… Ashley James A young Psy Trance DJ and producer, plus a resident and promoter at Magnetix, Ashley will show you how deep the rabbit hole goes… Known for his Psychedelic sets at various London parties, tonight Ashley will be seriously damaging the dancefloor with tracks under his new production alias… McShane and Rhys Williams The promoters and resident DJs of Romper Stomper in Swansea, McShane and Rhys Williams will also be joining us tonight. Having played alongside some of the biggest names in Hard Dance and at numerous nights around Wales and as far a field as Poland, this dynamic duo will be sure to show us how they do it down in the valleys… Phil Lankester A DJ that consistently rocks the socks off parties in London, Phil is both a resident and promoter at Magnetix and other parties. Having found his new sound of pure, driving Psy Trance this man is ready to unleash pure, seamless carnage on you all… Dean Zone Dean completes the trio of Magnetix residents and promoters tonight. A well known face on the London Hard Dance circuit and certainly no stranger to the 414, get ready for a set of brutal, blistering European Trance beats. Hold tight… Paul Martin Paul completes our line up and will be doing the honours of warming up for us tonight. After handing in a sensational demo at the September Magnetix we felt we had to reward him with a booking. Also a familiar face at Logic and Total Mayhem a few years ago, Paul has been absent from the scene for a while to concentrate on production work, but having just spent the summer playing to the Italians he’s back to kick start things with a bit of euphoria… Please note, we here at Magnetix are not content with just turning up, putting up set times, switching on the decks and playing music. Oh no. It is our mission to give you, the clubber, a much more personal clubbing experience. On the night we will be decking out the 414 to the max.
