vocoders Behringer Vocoder VC16: Here Come The Robots
GearNews posted a topic in Music Production Forum
The Behringer Vocoder VC16 is a complete vocoder with six digital sound engines in a Eurorack module. First shown in 2023, the module is now finished and ready to order. Behringer first announced the Vocoder VC16 on Facebook in 2023. Back then, the module was bright red. Meanwhile, they’ve decided to make the VC16 the same black color as their other Eurorack modules – a good choice in my opinion... The RD-78 – Behringer‘s hotly-anticipated emulation of Roland’s classic CR-78 drum machine – has finally arrived. The brand first teased a CR-78 emulation all the way back in 2022, when it shared images of a PCB (printed circuit board) to its Facebook page. It shared the images alongside a clue of “in the air tonight”, alluding to Phil Collins’ use of the machine on his famed 1981 hit of the same name. Behringer later confirmed that the RD-78 was “up and running” in January 2024, with another post on social media... After a typically long gestation period, it seems Behringer’s RD-78 has finally made it into production! The Behringer RD-78 has finally broken cover and will be available to order in the next day or so. Finally delivering on a product that was first teased a few years ago, the RD-78 sets out to emulate the classic Roland CR-78, the world’s first programmable drum machine. Such was the impact of the CR-78, it transcended the typical organ accompaniment wooden box and allowed users to program their own beats via an extra add-on device. Its sounds were still somewhat mired in the old analogue style, but there were hints of what was to come... The post The Behringer RD-78 Breaks Cover appeared first on gearnews.com. The Behringer Poly D gets long-awaited on-synth clock division functionality plus more in firmware update version 1.1.3. Behringer‘s popular four-voice take on the Minimoog, the Poly D, has received a new firmware update with a much-requested feature. Previously, if you wanted to adjust the clock division, you had to do it from the (now outdated) Synthtool app. Thanks to the new update, clock divide parameters are accessible from the synth itself. “Adjust clock division from 1/4 to 1/32T when synced to an external source,” said Behringer in an update to the company’s Facebook page. Behringer cautions to avoid adjusting the clock while a sequence is running to prevent sync issues. You can also adjust clock timing in the SynthTribe app. Along with clock division, the new firmware update features improvements to the arpeggiator... Behringer STEPS is the next module “heavily inspired” by a Mutable Instrument design. As a Stages clone, STEPS is a versatile six-stage function generator that lends itself to a wide variety of modulation tasks. It’s only been a few weeks since Behringer announced SWORDS, a clone of MI Blades. And the series continues: STEPS is a carbon copy of Stages, a hugely flexible modulation module that can be a multi-stage envelope, complex LFO, sequencer, or anything in between. Depending on how you patch the gate inputs, the six segments can be grouped into complex shapes. You can use all six stages individually, or combine them to build multi-stage envelopes or sequences. Each segment offers a choice of Ramp, Hold, and Step modes, which are the building blocks of complex modulation curves. Each segment has a small knob for Shape/Time, a Mode button, a Time/Level slider, and a corresponding CV input. There’s also a gate input per segment, as well as, of course, an output. Multi-color LEDs help to keep an eye on the movements of the output voltages... View the full article
