David Morales is an American DJ and record producer who rose to prominence in the 1980s and 1990s, becoming one of the first "superstar DJs". He honed his skills in the New York club scene, playing at legendary venues like the Loft and Paradise Garage, and later started his own club, Ozone Layer, in Brooklyn. Morales co-founded Def Mix Productions and embarked on a successful remixing career, working with artists like Mariah Carey and Michael Jackson. He won a Grammy Award for Remixer of the Year in 1998. Beyond remixing, Morales has released his own albums and singles, including the hit "Needin' U," and has DJed at clubs and festivals worldwide, including residencies in Ibiza.
