Joel Thomas Zimmerman (born January 5, 1981), known professionally as deadmau5 (pronounced "dead-mouse"), is a highly acclaimed Canadian electronic music producer and DJ. Recognized for his signature mouse head helmet worn during performances, his music primarily falls within the progressive house and electro house genres, though he also explores techno under the alias Testpilot. Deadmau5 gained significant recognition with his 2008 album Random Album Title, and has since released numerous successful tracks and albums, collaborating with prominent artists and founding his own record label, Mau5trap, in 2007. A multiple Juno Award winner, he has also received several Grammy Award nominations, solidifying his status as a leading figure in the electronic dance music scene and one of the world's highest-paid electronic music producers.
