John Mlynczak is the current President and CEO of NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants). He has a background in music education, technology, and leadership, holding a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and Master's degrees in both Music Performance and Education Leadership from Louisiana State University. Before joining NAMM in April 2023, he served as Vice President of Music Education & Technology at Hal Leonard, and prior to that, as Managing Director of Noteflight. His experience also includes being the Director of Education at PreSonus Audio. He is a certified Google Level 2 Educator and frequently speaks on education technology and music advocacy. As a musician, he plays the trumpet and has performed in various ensembles.
