  3. It was arguably the most anticipated night in months but the question is was it worth it? The answer (as if you haven't already guessed) is a big, resounding YES! This was only the second big night that Wildchild had launched onto the capital, but already there's no doubt that this is one of the clubs to watch out for in the coming year and beyond. Why? Because the place absolutely rocked. As we walked down the stairs and through the doors to the main room, our senses were suddenly assaulted by heavy basslines, whistles from the crowd and lasers that were mercilessly slicing through the waving sea of hands. Not bad for 11pm, we thought. Unfortunately, we'd missed the majority of Adam Sheridan's warm-up, but our disappointment was soon forgotten as Lange stepped up on to the decks and immediately dropped Frozen February 3 Fingers (a remix of Flaming June) what a tune! And the mania continued, courtesy of a line-up that was really second to none - not forgetting the little touches that made the whole night unique (including the infamous 30+-strong Wildchild Parade and its free handouts, bubble-gun attacks and er, the presence of space-hoppers a word of advice: don't ever try bouncing on one of these things whilst battered it is not a good idea!) Back to the line-up now (must stop digressing), Dan Bailey carried on where Lange left off, followed by Signum, then Wildchild's very own Reece Elliot, who hammered out the hard trance like there was bloody no tomorrow. Tidy Boys naturally pushed things that little bit further, JFK followed suit and by the time @Andy Farley unleashed that huge hard anthem SSSSSSSh by Jonah (Pants & Corsett), the atmosphere was so electrifying you could almost hear it crackle (though in retrospect, this could have been our jaws). In the meantime, the rest of the club was showing little signs of slowing down in honour of the frenzied main-room action. Room 2 was where the Tribal-funkers were at, and with Wildchild resident Little Gem belting out tunes like High Voltage by Electric Six, there's little wonder that everyone was all jumping around wearing stupid grins (and fighting for the Midget Gem sweets that she was throwing out between mixes the girl evidently has a sense of humour!) And Room 3 well, this one was even harder than the main room though this might well have been because Harderfaster.net and ClubTheWorld were competing for supremacy put it this way, it was a battle and no mistake. Who won? Er, haven't a clue (but it definitely wasn't my shoes they've almost fallen apart due to all that stomping). So there you have it Wildchild: possibly the most exciting night to come out of London in years. We rounded up an amazing night back in the main room, as BK boshed out tune after tune after well, you get the message. Unfortunately, though, the whole arriving home just after midday thing (after grooving funky-house stylee at the afterparty) has rendered us completely useless for the whole of this week and the worst thing is that apparently, the next one is a 12-hour marathon for Bank Holiday Sunday May 4th. Twelve hours!!!! They're calling it May The Fourth Be With You. Judging by the last one, I think I'm gonna need it Words by Eva Brown Flyer Photos
  4. Room 3: Hosted by Vaccine pres Lange Album Launch Party Lange Pulser The Viceroy Ben Beaton Ruth Cooper Room 1:Perfecto Tour Paul Oakenfold *Very Special Guest TBA* Tall Paul Sister Bliss Gavyn Mytchel Dave Horne Room 2: Hosted by Dirtbox Luke Dzierzek Clive Morley Alex Collings Pete Whitehouse Vaccine present Lange’s album launch party for our October extravaganza . Some 10 years in the coming Lange has been one of trances most prolific producers and has finally completed what is widely tipped to be one of the best received albums of the year. Joining Lange and his very special extended set will be rising producer star and collaborator on the album Pulser and Vaccine residents The Viceroy and Ben Beaton whilst Lange’s tipped future talent Ruth Cooper gets in on the early door warm up action. Approaching ten years in the production and DJing business, it is safe to say Lange knows his way around the studio and has developed a natural connection with the dancefloor. Many know him best as the genius responsible for some of the most timeless classics of the ‘golden age’ of trance around the turn of the millennium. However, you don’t survive for a decade in this game without adapting, and Lange has done exactly that in recent years, forging a new style for himself and adding a razor-sharp cutting edge to his sound. The album is called ‘BETTER LATE THAN NEVER’ and will be a Double Album featuring One CD of new material and a 2nd Disc full of Classic Lange releases and remixes; such as ‘Drifting Away’, ‘Happiness Happening’, and ‘Another You, Another Me’. Taking influence from many genres but with ‘Trance’ firmly at it’s heart, the Album draws on Lange’s desire and ability to innovate. The long-awaited album will be both an indication of where he is now and a reflection of his past achievements, defining yet another chapter in his extraordinary career. The Format will be a download release from 5th November 2007 followed by a 2xCD release in January 2008. Over in the main room Perfecto returns, the label responsible for some of dance music’s biggest tracks over the years including everything from Bullet in the Gun right through to PPK – Resurrection is being relaunched by its main man the legendary Paul Oakenfold. Responsible for pioneering some of the biggest tracks and producers from the likes of BT, Tilt, Grace and even a young Carl Cox it also released critically acclaimed mix cds profiling artists as diverse as Timo Maas, Arthur Baker and even Paul live from the Great Wall of China!! Joining the main man and a very special guest of Paul’s choosing will be two of The Gallery’s very special resident supremos. Tall Paul is the pure embodiment of The Gallery and is one of those residents club owners dream of, constantly playing some of the best sets of the night with a unique command of that main room sound system that only the longest serving dj would be able to. Sister Bliss, she of Faithless fame no less has been a consistent Turnmills crowd pleaser for many years constantly proving the cynics wrong with her up for it persona behind the decks and cutting edge main room Gallery beats. A true Gallery resident she joins the merry throng to make it truly a night to remember along with Gayvn Mytchel and warm up merchant Dave Horne. Dirtbox return in T2 with not one but two headliners, Luke Dzierzek has been causing some serious damage for a while as a producer and dj to watch out for. However we predict some even bigger things on the horizon for this young star, the next Citroen advert is destined to be carrying one of his dance floor destroyers and we all know where that can lead to just ask Mr Lu Cont or Mr Guetta! Clive Morley also swings by to add his support to the lineup along with residents Alex Collings and Pete Whitehouse For advanced concession guestlist please email your names to info@vaccine-turnmills.co.uk
