Richie Hawtin #Richie Hawtin
Richie Hawtin, born Richard Hawtin in Banbury, England, is a highly influential British-Canadian electronic musician and DJ who rose to prominence in the early 1990s as a key figure in the Detroit techno scene. His early work, often released through his co-founded label Plus 8 Records, helped shape the sound of techno. By the mid-1990s, Hawtin became a leading force in the development of minimal techno, particularly through his acclaimed Plastikman alias, exploring stripped-down, repetitive sonic landscapes. Beyond his production work, Hawtin is also a celebrated DJ known for his innovative use of technology and has continued to push boundaries through his label M-nus Records and projects like "CLOSER," solidifying his legacy as a pioneer and innovator in electronic music.
