    Tidy Scotland

TIDY BRINGS THE NOISE BACK TO GLASGOW! Tidy Trax, the undisputed home of UK hard dance, returns to Glasgow on October 2 for the second Tidy Scotland night at the Glasgow Carling Academy. The first Tidy Scotland saw Yoji Biomehanika jet in from Japan to rock the socks off a capacity crowd, aided and abetted by Rob Tissera, Scotland’s Jason Cortez and Phil York, and Tidy all-stars Lee Haslam and the Tidy Boys. October’s second helping of Tidy Scotland brings a big dollop of trance in the form of Italian hit-making duo NU NRG to the Academy, who’ll be performing a headlining live show. Scottish hard house institutions Jason Cortez and Phil York once again bundle all the hard house fun of their Edinburgh Nuklear Puppy night over to Glasgow for the evening, and hard dance deities Andy Farley, Paul Glazby and Paul Maddox will be in line to tear it up on the decks. Advance tickets are just £10 from www.tidy.com.

  5. Class A nibbles hit the high street IAN JOHNSTON ijohnston@scotlandonsunday.com BANDS of hippies in search of a memorable high at a low cost once tramped the countryside in search of this illicit fungus. The hallucinogenic effects of magic mushrooms were generally restricted to those determined enough to scour forests and secluded glades at the right time of the year. But help is now at hand for those who find reality too dull and can’t be bothered to leave the city in search of a solution. Magic mushrooms, despite containing a Class A drug, have recently gone on sale in Scottish shops without - so far - attracting the attention of the police. Retailers are making full use of vagueness in the law which means magic mushrooms are only illegal if they are ‘dried’ or ‘prepared’. For nearly half a century, The Pipe Shop on Edinburgh’s Leith Walk, has been one of the top places to buy Havana cigars in Scotland. But, alongside the jars of specialist tobacco and a massive humidor full of the finest Cuban tobacco leaves, there are now discreet signs offering "Mexicana magic mushrooms" for £12 a bag. And a former greasy spoon in Leith - newly converted to an internet cafe and renamed ‘Purple Haze’ - has also diversified into the business, selling both the Mexican and Hawaiian strains. The tobacconist and cafe owner both have a letter from the Home Office that indicates the sale of magic mushrooms is legal, providing they are sold in their natural state. However, Scottish authorities appear ready to adopt a hardline stance on the sale of the mushrooms, which contain the class A substance psilocybin, that could lead to life sentences for both men if a judge interprets the law differently. link alasdair

  7. consists of -a guy from nowhere in england somewhere who gets accused of being ´bruck´, even ´scottish´ all the time -a guy who´s forever cunted on trains, but who may in fact be scottish -and me, born in Edinburgh, but not really scottish - and I´ll hear no arguments about it. (Iceland, meh) So I have failed as a good ctwer, having brought precisly 0 scottish members on here, I await my punishment We´ll just have to wait for Creamy to pull random edinburgh birds who´ll bring their friends on, who might tell the craziest person they know about the site, who´ll return again and again and again and ... like I say, meh
