Sharkey #Sharkey
DJ Sharkey, born Jonathan Kneath on July 25, 1974, is a highly influential British DJ, MC, and producer, particularly known for his significant contributions to the hardcore and freeform genres of electronic dance music. He began his career as an MC at hardcore rave events in the UK in 1993 and later transitioned to music production, teaming up with DJ Hixxy in 1995 to release "Toy Town," a defining track of the happy hardcore era. This led to their signing with React Music and the creation of the "Bonkers" compilation series, which became the best-selling hardcore series of all time. Sharkey was also instrumental in developing the freeform genre, collaborating with Kevin Energy and others. After a period of semi-retirement, he returned to the scene and continues to perform and produce, hosting the "Bonkers Beat" radio show.
