Superfast Oz, also known as Owen Swinerd, is a prominent figure in the hard house and NRG (Nu Energy) music scene. Based in the UK, he is recognized as a highly respected DJ, producer, and label owner. He co-owns Kaktai Records, an influential label in the hard house genre, and is one half of the acclaimed production duo OD404, alongside Dom Sweeten (aka Defective Audio). Superfast Oz began his journey in electronic dance music in the early 90s after experimenting with rock and thrash bands. His career took off when he met Dom Sweeten, leading to a successful partnership in music production and the establishment of Kaktai Records in 1997. Before focusing solely on DJing and production, Oz co-owned BangingTunes.com, a record store and label. His contributions to the hard house scene include numerous releases and remixes on significant labels, along with residencies at major clubs worldwide, from London to Tokyo. Known for his innovative DJ sets and significant influence as OD404, Superfast Oz remains a key figure in the hard house community.
