Townshend Studio #Townshend Studio
The Townshend Studio, established in 2024 at the University of West London's Ealing campus, is a creative music space inspired by the legacy of Ealing and Pete Townshend, the co-founder of The Who and a former student of Ealing Art College (now part of UWL). Townshend generously donated a collection of his instruments, including 12 significant synthesizers and other equipment from his career, to provide students with a unique environment for learning, experimentation, collaboration, and performance in electronic music. The studio aims to unite historical and contemporary technologies, encouraging creative practice and exploration across various disciplines, embodying the forward-thinking spirit of Townshend and his former teacher, Roy Ascott.
